While we were still enemies of God, out of His love for us, He sent His Son to die on the cross and reconcile us to Himself. “While we were enemies of God, we were reconciled to Him through the death of His son.” Romans 5:10 Paul, in Romans 5:10 explains the depth of God’s love for us before we even knew him, He didn’t wait for us to start loving him, he took the initiative. God loved us first before we even knew who he was. We have no excuse because any level of love that God calls us to display to another human being, has already been extended to us by God more deeply than we can hope to understand. We have no excuse not to love everyone, including those who grind our gears, or even those who persecute us. This lie couldn’t be farther from the truth. We think that if we don’t feel loved by someone then we don’t have to show love to them. Often, when we read passages of scripture that command us to love our enemies we come up with a ton of excuses to absolve us of our responsibility. When we sin against our neighbor, enemy or not, we sin against God. The sin of David is different than the sin of failing to love our enemies but the same concept applies. He understood that by sinning against Bathsheba, he also transgressed against his heavenly Father and it rocked him to the core. “Against you, you only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight, so that you may be justified in your words and blameless in your judgement.” Psalm 51:4ĭavid got it. King David illustrates this fact beautifully in Psalm 51:4 after committing adultery with Bathsheba he cries out, Likewise, when we despise our enemies we also despise God because He made everyone in His image, even our enemies. By loving our enemies we show love to God. Therefore, we can’t separate our love for God from our love for humankind. “And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me’” Matthew 25:40Īll humankind is created in the image of God. If we deliberately ignore God’s command to love our enemies, we are in dire need of a spiritual self-evaluation. We should strive to produce the fruit of showing love to our enemies. “But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven.”Īs children of God, loving our neighbors isn’t optional, God expects us to love our enemies if we call ourselves His children. Recall the words of Jesus in Matthew 5:44-45, More than that, we should love our enemies because it is one of the trademarks of being a son or daughter of God. We should love our enemies because God commands, and anything God commands us to do is for our benefit. It’s clear that Jesus calls us to be counter-cultural by loving our enemies, but why should we? “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven” Matthew 5:43-45. How can God insist that we love our co-worker who has been spreading rumors about us, or our mother-in-law who we can never seem to be good enough for? How can we be expected to love those people who are so unloving to us? In Matthew 5, Jesus teaches us that we are to love even our enemies. We are not exempt from loving anyone, not even our enemies. However, the call to love stretches far beyond our inner circle. Many people think that when the Bible says “love your neighbor” it means we are supposed to love our family, friends, acquaintances, and maybe a few strangers along the way. God calls us to love Him above all else and love our neighbors as ourselves. As Christians, our highest calling is to love.

Eastern Time Zone (ET): UTC-05:00 – includes 22 states in the eastern part of the contiguous United States, including some parts of Canada, Mexico, Panama, and the Caribbean islands. These time zones encompass most of the contiguous United States. Likely the most well-known include Eastern, Central, Mountain, and Pacific Time Zones. In the U.S., there are a total of 9 time zones used. As a general rule of thumb, a change of 15° of longitude should result in a time difference of 1 hour. Many countries have more than one time zone. The following map displays the standard time zones across the world. As can be seen, although there is a general standard throughout the world for defining time zones, it is still highly dependent on the country, and is subject to change. Russia on the other hand, is divided into 11 time zones, though at one point this was reduced to 9 time zones. For example, China and India only use a single time zone even though they are countries that encompass far larger an area than 15° of longitude. Generally, a time change of 1 hour is required with each 15° change of longitude, but this does not necessarily always happen. Nepal, the final holdout, did not adopt a standard offset of UTC until 1956, and even then, has a less common offset of UTC+5:45. It wasn't until 1929 before most countries adopted hourly time zones. Time zones throughout the world vary, and used to vary even more than they currently do. Most commonly, UTC is offset by an hour, but in some cases, the offset can be a half-hour or quarter-hour, such as in the case of UTC+06:30 and UTC+12:45. UTC offset can range from UTC-12:00 to UTC+14:00. Generally, time zones are defined as + or - an integer number of hours in relation to UTC for example, UTC-05:00, UTC+08:00, and so on. UTC breaks time into days, hours, minutes, and seconds, where days are usually defined in terms of the Gregorian calendar. Most time zones that are on land are offset from UTC. UTC is not dependent on daylight saving time (DST), though some countries switch between time zones during their DST period, such as the United Kingdom using British Summer Time in the summer months. UTC, which is based on highly precise atomic clocks and the Earth's rotation, is the new standard of today. Although GMT used to be a time standard, it is now mainly used as the time zone for certain countries in Africa and Western Europe. Although GMT and Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) essentially reflect the same time, GMT is a time zone, while UTC is a time standard that is used as a basis for civil time and time zones worldwide. Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) is the mean solar time at the Royal Observatory located in Greenwich, London, considered to be located at a longitude of zero degrees. They are often based on the boundaries of countries or lines of longitude. Related Time Calculator | Date CalculatorĪ time zone is a region on Earth that uses a uniform time. The costs could change considerably and breakeven analysis will help in setting the selling price.īreakeven analysis is useful for the following reasons: Changing the business model: If the company is about to the change the business model, like, switching from wholesale business to retail business, then a break-even analysis must be performed.Creating a new product: In the case of an existing business, the company should still peform a break-even analysis before launching a new product-particularly if such a product is going to add a significant expenditure. Not only it helps in deciding whether the idea of starting a new business is viable, but it will force the startup to be realistic about the costs, as well as provide a basis for the pricing strategy. Starting a new business: To start a new business, a break-even analysis is a must. In the calculation of the contribution margin, fixed costs are not considered. 40 represents the revenue collected to cover the fixed costs. 25 per product, the contribution margin of the product is Rs. For an example, if the price of a product is Rs.100, total variable costs are Rs. The excess between the selling price and total variable costs is known as contribution margin. (Break-even point in rupees) Contribution Marginīreak-even analysis also deals with the contribution margin of a product. We get Break-Even Sales at 5000 units x Rs. 200 = 5000 units Next, this number of units can be shown in rupees by multiplying the 5,000 units with the selling price of Rs. 200 which is the contribution per unit (Rs. 10,00,000 First we need to calculate the break-even point per unit, so we will divide the Rs.10,00,000 of fixed costs by the Rs. The basic formula for break-even analysis is derived by dividing the total fixed costs of production by the contribution per unit (price per unit less the variable costs). These costs include cost of raw material, packaging cost, fuel and other costs that are directly related to the production. Variable costs are costs that will increase or decrease in direct relation to the production volume. In case of no production also the costs must be incurred. These costs are fixed irrespective of the production. Fixed costs include (but are not limited to) interest, taxes, salaries, rent, depreciation costs, labour costs, energy costs etc. These overhead costs occur after the decision to start an economic activity is taken and these costs are directly related to the level of production, but not the quantity of production. Components of Break-Even Analysisįixed costs are also called overhead costs. 1,00,000 selling similar products, Happy Ltd will be able to break-even with the sale of lesser products as compared to Sad Ltd. For example, say Happy Ltd has fixed costs of Rs. Generally, a company with low fixed costs will have a low break-even point of sale. Break-even is a situation where an organisation is neither making money nor losing money, but all the costs have been covered.īreak-even analysis is useful in studying the relation between the variable cost, fixed cost and revenue. Remove any faded or wilted leaves and stems as these will not revive and weaken the plant.ħ. When harvesting, leave a few stalks in the vase as thyme needs a certain amount of foliage for photosynthesis.Ħ. Make sure to use sterilized scissors or garden clippers to prevent the spread of disease.ĥ. Prune thyme back approximately one-third of their original length.Ĥ. Cut thyme stems back, ensuring that two leaves remain in the stem.ģ. Choose healthy stems with lots of foliage.Ģ. Here are some steps to follow when harvesting thyme to ensure it will continue to produce:ġ. Harvesting thyme correctly can ensure that it keeps growing in the future. How do you harvest thyme so it keeps growing? As a general rule of thumb, thyme typically blooms from late spring to early fall and the exact length of flowering can vary depending on the variety chosen. herba-barona) have a much longer flowering period, sometimes lasting as much as two or three months. Other varieties, such as creeping thyme (T. citriodorus) bloom for only a few weeks in June or July and the flowers will then drop off the plant. Some common varieties such as common thyme (Thymus vulgaris) and lemon thyme (T. The flowering period of thyme really depends on the type and variety of thyme. Thyme is a Mediterranean herb that can bloom and flower throughout the warmer months of the year, typically between late spring and early fall. If you’re looking for guaranteed re-growth, you may want to opt for hardier varieties such as English or French thyme or one of the creeping varieties. In general, most varieties have fairly hardy root systems that will continue to survive through winter and grow back the following spring despite some of the foliage dying off. Thymes are generally semi-evergreen perennials, meaning that their foliage may stay evergreen in milder climates but may die down significantly in colder climates. Yes, thyme typically grows back every year, though this depends largely on the particular variety of thyme you are growing and the climate you are growing it in. Since thyme is self-seeding, it is possible for a small patch of thyme to slowly expand its reach over time. When the thyme is left to go to seed, new thyme plants will eventually start to sprout up. Once the flowers are fertilized and pollinated, they form small, light-green seed capsules. The blooms are especially abundant when the thyme is grown in full sunlight, which they need to thrive. When thyme blooms, it produces small, pink or white flowers that attract bees, butterflies, and birds. The main thing to remember is to cut the flower stem at the base and not damage the leaves.īy doing this, you can ensure that your thyme plant continues to grow and can produce flowers again in the future. On the other hand, if you are looking to use the flowers for decorative purposes, then it is fine to cut the flowers off before they start to wilt. If you plan to use the leaves for cooking or flavoring, then it’s best to wait until the flowers have stopped blooming and then cut the stem of the plant about a few inches above the base of the stem to get the best flavor. When it comes to cutting the flowers off thyme, it really depends on what you plan to use it for. The essential oils in thyme are essential to its aroma and flavor and by harvesting at the right time, you can enjoy the best of it. Moreover, it is important to note that you should always harvest early in the morning or late in the evening when the essential oils are at their peak. This ensures that there are no old and dying flower stems on the plant, which may leave an unpleasant flavor on the thyme. When harvesting thyme after it flowers, it is best practice to cut back the stalks and remove dead flowers from the plant. Therefore, it is best to wait until the thyme flowers have just begun to open and harvest as soon as possible. If the thyme flowers are allowed to stay on the plant too long, the flavor may become overpowering or too intense. However, when harvesting thyme after it flowers, it is important to time it correctly. Moreover, harvesting the flowers in thyme is a great way to quickly increase the yield and can be used as a garnish or to flavor dishes. The flowering process does not affect the taste of thyme and can even improve the flavor by increasing its aromatic essential oil content. from India in 2010 to pursue a PhD in Chemical Engineering at NYU. Circuit 2: Simple Mobile Jammer Circuit DiagramĪ Mobile Jammer Circuit or a Cell Phone Jammer Circuit is an instrument or device that can prevent the reception of signals by Mobile Phones.Circuit 1: Mobile Jammer Circuit using 555.This year, most of the nation’s 273.8 million mobile phone users will experience poor cell connectivity at some point. When it comes to weak cell signal, students and teachers are not alone. So, if jammers aren’t the cause behind most incidents of bad cell phone reception in the classroom, why do schools have bad cell reception? And what can be done to get signal in a school? If anything, it’s actually in the best interest of school officials to maintain cellular communications for safety and liability reasons. Outside of the occasional isolated incident, such as the rogue Florida science teacher taking matters into his own hands, there doesn’t appear to be grand conspiracy of schools using cell jammers to prevent students from calling or texting in class. “We remind and warn consumers that it is a violation of federal law to use a cell jammer or similar devices that intentionally block, jam, or interfere with authorized radio communications such as cell phones, police radar, GPS, and Wi-Fi.” Visit the official website of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and their policy is abundantly clear: In fact, not only is it illegal for consumers to use cell phone jammers within the United States, it is actually unlawful for retailers to sell them for consumer use in the first place. The Use of Cell Phone Jammers is Actually Illegalĭespite the presence of many websites actively selling “cell jammers” or “signal blockers” to disrupt cellular communications and create impromptu “quiet zones” in cars, schools, theaters, restaurants, and other places, the use of these devices is indeed a violation of federal law. In a letter by superintendent Kurt Browning, Liptak was informed of his five-day suspension, pointing out to the teacher, “Not only did your actions potentially violate federal laws, you posed a serious risk to critical safety communications as well as the possibility of preventing others from making 9-1-1 calls.” Liptak assumed cell phone jammer use was permittable if his intended purpose wasn’t malicious. Liptak maintains that he only meant to fix the problem of distracted students, not cause problems for the school. That is, until Verizon showed up to complain that someone at Fivay High School was messing with its network.Īfter identifying Liptak as the cause of its network problem, Verizon suggested that cell signal outside of the school was being disrupted by his cell phone jamming efforts. At first, the teacher’s strategy seemed to work. Tired of watching his classroom obsess over their smartphones instead of his lesson, science teacher Dean Liptak used a cell phone jammer to put an end to it.Īccording to the Tampa Bay Times, Liptak activated the signal jammer over a three-day period from March 31 to April 2. When this policy change had little to no effect on the student behavior at the school, one teacher decided to take action. Cell Phone Jammer at a School in Floridaīack in 2015, a school district in Pasco County, Florida enacted a policy to order its students to keep their cell phones and mobile devices switched off during class. Maybe because a cell phone jammer was once discovered in use to block cell signal at a school. They work by creating interference within the frequency range used by cell phones-disrupting communication between phone users and the cell tower.īut why would people assume that cell phone jammers are any more prevalent and in use at a public school as opposed to any other government facility? Or even a private business? A device designed to block cell phone signal transmission or disrupt cell reception. But why do schools have bad cell reception? Could there be a specific reason? Some people suspect there is one thing to blame-cell phone jammers.Ī cell phone jammer is just what it sounds like. |
